is designed to launch your career in the screen and stage industries. This immersive programme gives you the opportunity to work directly with real clients and leading production companies, building the creative and technical skills essential for live, on-set environments.

Upon completion, you will achieve a Level 4 Professional Diploma in Technical and Production Practice for the Creative Industries.

At BOA Stage and Screen Production, we are committed to industry-focused, project-based learning. Our curriculum is developed in partnership with major organisations across the UK to ensure our students leave us confident, capable and truly stage-ready.

Throughout the year, you’ll work on a series of live industry briefs with prestigious partners alongside expert tuition from working industry professionals. You’ll attend specialist workshops and masterclasses, complete practical assignments, and build a detailed journal and e-portfolio to document your progress.

By the end of the course, you’ll graduate with the credits, hands-on experience and professional network needed to step straight into industry roles or continue your training at top universities.

You will explore a wide range of sectors within the production world including theatre, film and TV, editorial, and live events. You will develop the core skills essential for progression: research, character design, responding to live briefs and reflective practice.

Your learning journey includes a series of practical units, culminating in a final major project that showcases your advanced creative and technical abilities. Skills developed on the course include creative, high-fashion and historical makeup, body painting, hair and wig styling, hair continuity for film and TV, wig creation and special effects makeup and prosthetic techniques.

You will gain a Level 4 Professional Diploma in Technical and Production Practice for the Creative Industries.

This course provides learning experiences through which you will develop a wide range of skills required within the hair and make-up sector. Through practical exploration and real-life performance and film projects, you will develop and hone specialist design, creative, technical and management skills required to work successfully in this industry. 

Entry Requirement

This full-time, one-year course is completely free for students aged 18. To join us in September, you’ll need to have completed a relevant Level 3 Extended Diploma or A Levels.

You will have a grade 4 GCSE in English literature or language.

You will be required to attend an aptitude workshop as part of the application process.
